What to Expect

Your First Appointment

Your first appointment will last 1 hour. The session will start with a consultation which allows Sally to gain a detailed understanding of the problem, following this you will be given a gown to change into and then Sally will examine you.

Examination generally includes: postural assessment, orthopaedic testing, neurological testing, joint and muscle palpation and joint range-of-motion testing.

With this information Sally will form a diagnosis and explain to you in plain English the diagnosis and a plan for treatment. You can ask any questions and then, with your consent, we will begin treatment.

Chiropractic treatment usually includes deep tissue massage techniques, joint manipulation and mobilisation and advice on posture, exercises and lifestyle changes if necessary.

If Sally feels an X-ray or MR scan may be required she will write to your GP or arrange a private scan for you, this is not common but occasionally necessary in order to rule out or confirm a diagnosis.

Chiropractic treatment is covered by most health insurance companies, please inform Sally if you have health insurance so you can reclaim treatment costs.
